Writing this book was a wonderful experience! I had the opportunity to think long and hard about the most powerful tools I could offer to someone suffering from strong, painful emotions and addictive behaviors. Although designed specifically for people with addictions, the coping skills and mindfulness exercises in these books are beneficial for everyone. I often use components from my books in individual sessions and groups.
My co-author and I worked hard to bring together the best of the best from life-changing therapeutic techniques like cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). My hope is that our books will continue to bring comfort and healing to people all over the country - "clients" I will never even meet!
